Crafty Monday/Book Week: Vampires

You knew this post was coming, so I thought I would get it out pretty early in the week. I love vampires. I want to be a vampire (and I even know which author's vampire I would like to be). I've read boring vampire books, horrible vampire books, okay vampire books, and some downright AMAZING books. I want to share the ones that are amazing.

The first is the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. If I were to become any kind of vampire, it would be a Lynsay Sands style one. The vampires in her books are not mythical or magical in any way, the reason for their existence is scientific and explained really well. One of my favorite parts about the series is the humor. If a book doesn't make me laugh at least once it's a waste of my time. These books are so funny. I have so many favorite moments and lines so I thought I would share a little bit (this is not my ultimate favorite, you can read that for yourself in Bite Me If You Can).
She ran back outside now, still clutching something small and furry to her chest as she rushed the patrol car. There were two officers in the vehicle, one short and blond, the other a tall brunette. The dark-haired officer was the closest and the one the woman ran to as he got out from behind the steering wheel and slammed the door closed.

"He's gone crazy!" she shrieked. "He thinks he's a vampire! He wanted to eat my Muffin!"

"I certainly hope her muffin is the furball she's carrying," Lucern said with a dry humor that made Bastien laugh and dispelled some of the tension that had been gripping him. --- Love Bites page 310

Below are the books in the series and they link to my book review LJ. I'm not a fan of the new covers of books 2-4, but if you are going to the bookstore, those are what you'll be looking for.

Another vampires series I love is the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. It is about a half-vampire named Cat. She meets a super hot vampire bounty hunter named Bones. The way I describe it may sound kind of corny, but it really isn't. It is action packed and there are some great funny moments. I love Cat and Bones and I am excited for more of this series.

Another of my most favorite vampire series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. This series is hot hot HOT (gif supplied for those who want a visual of how I'm saying this). The books have been compared to crack, and I have to agree (although I've never smoked crack, just thought I should make that clear). They aren't really good for you and they're super addicting, but the rush is so worth it. They are awesome warrior men, the series is fun and I especially love my signed copy of Lover Avenged

So those are my very favorite vampire books. I would mentioned another certain series, but I'm not going to. We'll just assume I said some nice things about it and move on. Since today is also Monday, I thought I would share some vampire crafts! Just a few hours ago Craftster.org featured my Twilight cross stitch for "Manic Monday". Each craft links to flickr and more details.

Hooray for Vampire Awareness Month!! Thank you for your reviews! You read so many books, I am impressed. I have the first Black Dagger Brotherhood books on my to be read shelf, and am much more anxious to get to it now.
